What Is Crypton Mobile?

Crypton Mobile is not a travel product. It's not a bundle that expires in 30 days. It's a real mobile eSIM line, the kind that stays with you. You get:

  • A permanent eSIM profile — provisioned over the air in minutes, lives entirely on your device. No physical SIM. No waiting for a card to arrive in the post.
  • Mobile data on demand — top up whenever you need it. Pay-as-you-go, billed per GB in USD across 500+ networks and 190+ countries.
  • A line that never expires — as long as the €5/month maintenance fee is active, your eSIM stays on the network. Suspend it anytime, reactivate instantly. It is never deleted.
  • Phone number pairing — coming soon — dedicated US or UK number, SMS, and voice on the same line. One plan, one bill, one dashboard.

A Note on Naming — "eSIM" Is Now "Crypton Travel eSIM"

Alongside the Crypton Mobile launch, we've also renamed our original eSIM product to Crypton Travel eSIM. Nothing about the product has changed — same coverage, same activation flow, same pricing across 190+ countries. We just gave it a clearer name so the distinction between the two products is immediately obvious.

If you've bought or used a Crypton eSIM before, everything works exactly as it did. You'll simply see "Travel eSIM" where you previously saw "eSIM" across the dashboard, landing pages, and API docs.

So How Are the Two Products Different?

Good question. We get asked this a lot. Crypton Travel eSIM is a prepaid travel product — a fixed data bundle with a defined validity window, best for trips. You buy it, use it, it expires. Crypton Mobile is a permanent mobile service. Think of it as your second SIM — the private one, the one you control entirely through the Crypton dashboard. It doesn't expire. It grows with you. When phone number pairing launches, it becomes a complete private mobile identity: data + SMS + calls + number, all in one place.

They're sold, billed, and managed separately. You can have both.

Pricing

We kept it simple: Activation fee is €5 one-time while Monthly maintenance is €5/month (Crypton Credits or Stripe subscription) | Mobile data is Pay-as-you-go · per GB in USD · varies by country & carrier with no contracts. No minimum commitment and you can cancel anytime, your eSIM suspends rather than being deleted, so you can come back later.

Data pricing is live in your dashboard. Search any destination to see per-GB rates across all available carriers — including the best (cheapest) option highlighted automatically.

How It Works

  1. Get an eSIM — from your Crypton dashboard under Crypton Mobile, click Get a new eSIM. Pay the €5 activation fee from your Crypton Credits balance (or set up a Stripe subscription for the monthly fee).
  2. We provision it — usually takes a couple of minutes. You'll get a confirmation email the moment it's ready.
  3. Scan the QR code — open your device's eSIM settings and scan. The profile installs in seconds.
  4. Top up data when you need it — $5, $10, or $25 at a time, straight from the dashboard. Credits come out of your Crypton balance.
  5. Suspend, resume, manage — full control in the dashboard. Pause it when you don't need it. Your eSIM is never deleted.

Privacy First, As Always

Crypton Mobile runs on the same infrastructure philosophy as everything else we build: minimal data collection, full user control, and no surprises.

  • Your eSIM carrier is a B2B partner — their name never appears in your dashboard. From your perspective it's Crypton Mobile, full stop.
  • Data usage is tracked internally with our own credit ledger — independent of carrier-side reporting. You always know exactly how much you've used and how much you have left.
  • The eSIM auto-suspends when your data credit hits zero — no unexpected overage charges, ever.
  • We alert you before suspension happens so you have time to top up.

Email Forwarding Is Out of Beta

Email forwarding has been in beta for a while. It's now a fully supported, paid feature — and if you were part of the beta, nothing changes for you. Beta users get permanent free access. If you created email aliases before today, your access is grandfathered forever. No payment required, no action needed. You'll see a "Beta Access — Free Forever" badge on your aliases page. For new users, pricing is simple: Monthly is €1/month while Annual is €10/year, you can pay with Crypton Credits or a Stripe subscription, your choice. What you get is:

  • Email aliases across multiple privacy-focused domains — not tied to a single domain. Pick from whatever is available and expand as we add more.
  • Forward to any inbox — aliases forward to your real email address. Your actual address is never exposed.
  • Save emails in-app — optionally store a copy in your Crypton inbox.
  • Custom domain support — coming soon. Set it up from your dashboard under Email.

  • Dedicated phone number (US & UK) — attach a real number to your Crypton Mobile eSIM. SMS, MMS, and eventually voice. One plan.
  • Automatic renewal options — smarter maintenance billing with per-usage insights.
  • Custom email domains — bring your own domain to the email forwarding system.
