BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) lets you connect your own Android phone and SIM cards to use with Crypton for your personal SMS needs. Unlike the Partner Program where you rent out your device to other customers, BYOD is for your own private use — you manage your own numbers and messages.

No, any Android device running Android 9 or higher will work. The device should support at least one SIM card, and dual-SIM devices let you use up to two numbers. iPhones are not currently supported.

Sending SMS through your own device is completely free — it uses your SIM card's own SMS plan. If you prefer, you can also route messages through our gateway at the standard per-segment rate.

Yes. You can disable auto-renewal at any time from your BYOD dashboard. Your service will remain active until the current billing period ends. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees.

Yes. Crypton BYOD Platform is available for self-hosting on your infrastructure. You use the same Companion app and point it at your HTTPS server URL when provisioning. Hosted BYOD on crypton.sh is still here if you prefer a managed setup.
